M: Where are you from?
I’m a Brooklyn native. Specifically, the neighborhoods of Bensonhurst and Dyker Heights.
M: What inspires you?
Inspiration stems from feeling.
- I’m inspired when emotions are elicited. To feel joy, sadness, empathy, drive and the will to say, act and do.
- Along with learning that one has to overcome an adversity, I'm inspired when someone presents themselves with confidence; those who don’t surrender to their insecurities.
- These quotes, “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?” and “Every expert was once a beginner.
- I'm inspired by potential. Potential for a person, neighborhood, community or society to develop and flourish. The potential for an idea to become a reality.
As an Italian-American, the kitchen is a forum for all sorts of assembly and it is where I feel most at ‘home’. I’m the daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter of individuals who never complained about cooking. Cooking was their art, therapy and possibly their most beloved act to show their love. I love to cook, bake, entertain and it genuinely makes me happy to feed people. I’m an avid beach goer; coffee, Nutella and travel enthusiast; amateur food blogger; story teller; concert attendee; and a struggling New York Mets fan.
